Universal Singlets, Supergravity and Inflation
نویسنده
چکیده
In supersymmetric theories, the occurrence of universal singlets is a delicate issue, because they usually induce tadpoles that destabilize the hierarchy. We study the effects of these tadpoles in supersymmetric hybrid inflation models. The resulting scenario is generically modified, but it is still possible to achieve inflation in a natural way. It is argued that singlets, despite the problems associated with their presence, can lead to interesting cosmological consequences. 1 [email protected] 2 [email protected]

Superstring–inspired Supergravity as the Universal Source of Inflation and Quintessence
We prove (in superspace) the equivalence between the higher-derivative N = 1 supergravity, defined by a holomorphic function F of the chiral scalar curvature superfield, and the standard theory of a chiral scalar superfield with a chiral superpotential W , coupled to the (minimal) Poincaré supergravity in four spacetime dimensions. The relation between the holomorphic functions F and W is found...
متن کاملPrimordial Black Hole Formation in Supergravity
We study a double inflation model (a preinflation + a new inflation) in supergravity and discuss the formation of primordial black holes which may be identified with massive compact halo objects (MACHOs) observed in the halo of our galaxy. The preinflation drives an inflaton for the new inflation close to the origin through supergravity effects and the new inflation naturally occurs. If the tot...
متن کاملDouble Inflation in Supergravity and the Large Scale Structure
The cosmological implication of a double inflation model with hybrid + new inflations in supergravity is studied. The hybrid inflation drives an inflaton for new inflation close to the origin through supergravity effects and new inflation naturally occurs. If the total e-fold number of new inflation is smaller than ∼ 60, both inflations produce cosmologically relevant density fluctuations. Both...
متن کاملD-term inflation in non-minimal supergravity
D-term inflation is one of the most interesting and versatile models of inflation. It is possible to implement naturally D-term inflation within high energy physics, as for example SUSY GUTs, SUGRA, or string theories. D-term inflation avoids the η-problem, while in its standard form it always ends with the formation of cosmic strings. Given the recent three-year WMAP data on the cosmic microwa...
متن کاملPhase transition and monopole production in supergravity inflation
Abstract In F-term supergravity inflation models, scalar fields other than the inflaton generically receive a Hubble induced mass, which may restore gauge symmetries during inflation and phase transitions may occur during or after inflation as the Hubble parameter decreases. We study monopole (and domain wall) production associated with such a phase transition in chaotic inflation in supergravi...
